How Can I Protect Myself from Energy Attacks?

Many people contact me, because they feel they’re being attacked energetically — by someone close to them, by the world around them, or by intense emotions that seem to come from nowhere. They often describe feeling too sensitive, drained, or overwhelmed.
Before we go any further, I want to remind you of something very important:
Reiki practice helps you stay grounded in your true inner self, in your true own light.
It brings you back to your own centre — to a calm, steady state of mind where you no longer get carried away by other people’s energy, emotions, or stories.
Sometimes, as you grow in awareness, you may feel guided to take distance from certain people — perhaps even relatives. When that happens, it’s not always because of their energy.
Often, it’s because the person is so immersed in the story they’ve created in their own mind that they can no longer see things clearly — and no matter what you say or do, they may not understand, avoid listening or taken it personally.
And that’s okay.
Because at the end of the day, everyone is responsible for their own healing. You cannot heal someone who doesn’t want to see, or more precisely - being healed.
If you need to walk away, it’s not out of rejection — it’s out of compassion for yourself.
Your energy and wellbeing deserve boundaries too.
Shift from “I’m Being Attacked” to “I Am in charge of my own energy”
When we feel something negative coming toward us, it’s natural to want to protect ourselves. But when you believe that something outside of you is stronger than you, you give your power away.
The truth is:
You are the owner of your own body, your own energy, and your own space.
Instead of focusing on “blocking” or “protecting,” begin by reclaiming your energy. Take a breath, come back into your body, and remind yourself:
“I am in charge, of my own energy.”
Protection begins the moment you choose to stand in your own light.
Fill Yourself Up from the Inside
Imagine your energy like a glass of water.
If your glass is half empty, you’ll naturally start absorbing things from outside — other people’s moods, thoughts, or emotions. But when your glass is full and overflowing, there’s simply no room for anything else to come in.
That fullness comes from connecting with your own energy — your creativity, your joy, your soul, your breath. Reiki, grounding, meditation, or time in nature can help you fill yourself until you’re overflowing with your own light.
When you’re overflowing, you don’t have to push away anything; it simply cannot stay.
Let Go of the Idea of “Protection”
True energetic safety doesn’t come from protection — it comes from embodiment.
When you are full, grounded, and radiating from within, there is nothing left to protect. You are not reacting to the world; you are shining into it.
So rather than thinking, “How do I protect myself?”, ask instead:
“How can I fill myself more completely with my own inner self, and light today?”
That simple shift changes everything.
Final Thoughts
The more you stand in your own light, the less you will even think about energy attacks — because your vibration won’t match that frequency anymore. You become calm in the storm, not the storm itself.
And remember - it’s okay to love people from a distance.
Sometimes the kindest thing you can do for both of you is to step back, protect your peace, and allow life to teach them in its own time.
You are not here to fix anyone.
You are here to be yourself fully, to live from your heart, and to let your light guide the way.
